A delegation from Samoa's Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries headed up by the agency's Chief Executive Officer, Seuseu Tauati, visited Hainan Province from August 18 to 23. The delegation came to learn more about the development of the province's agricultural and fisheries industries, tour research and production bases, and deepen exchanges and pragmatic cooperation in areas including high-efficiency tropical agriculture and fisheries, the economy and trade, and education.

On August 19, Li Feng,the Vice Governor of Hainan Province,met with the Samoan delegation. He introduced the advantages of the Hainan Free Trade Port's policy and institutional system and the development of the province's key industries.He expressed Hainan's willingness to implement the important consensus reached between China and Samoa's leaders through fisheries skills training and talent cooperation, extol the tradition of friendly relations between the two nations, deepen bilateral exchanges and cooperation in fields such as the economy and trade, agriculture and fisheries, and humanities and education, and share in the benefits brought about by the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port.

SeuseuTauatiexpressed strong admiration for the achievements of the Hainan Free Trade Port's development, stating that Samoa would work with Hainan to learn from its advanced development experience, strengthen pragmatic cooperation in trade, tourism, education, humanities, and other areas, and advance the high-quality development of bilateral ties.

During their time in Hainan, the Samoan delegation held discussions with Hainan University,the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, the Hainan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and other institutes, and visited locations in Sanya, Wenchang, Chengmai, and other places in the province.
