HAIKOU, March 2026 — Six healthcare professionals from Hainan have been nominated for the 2026 national campaign recognizing “Good Doctors and Good Nurses,” organized by China’s National Health Commission.

The nominees represent a wide range of medical fields, including reproductive medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, mental health, disease control, maternal care, and laboratory testing.

Among them:

Ma Ning, a reproductive specialist, has helped thousands of families overcome infertility through advanced assisted reproductive technologies.

Luo Haisheng, a veteran doctor in a Li ethnic region, has spent over two decades building a grassroots traditional Chinese medicine center from scratch.

He Wenxia, a psychiatric nurse, has dedicated 16 years to caring for vulnerable patients, often acting as both caregiver and emotional support.

Fu Meiyan, a disease control expert, played a key role in epidemic response and chronic disease prevention at the community level.

Fan Caiju, a senior maternity nurse, has safely delivered thousands of newborns while advancing maternal care services.

Zhao Jing, a laboratory technician, has safeguarded blood safety through years of meticulous testing and public health service.

Their stories highlight dedication, innovation, and compassion across Hainan’s healthcare system, reflecting broader efforts to improve public health services under the Free Trade Port initiative.
