Physical health and the ability to receive medical care is both something which concerns everyone and one of the major topics which is brought up annually at Hainan's Two Sessions. During this year's Two Sessions, Gu Shenhong (Hainan Province CPPCC Member and Hainan Medical University School of General Practice and Continuing Education Associate Dean) had two proposals: first, to pay more attention to mental health, especially among the youth; second, to continue to expand the scope of places where AED units are installed.

As a primary care physician, Professor Gu also stated that international talent exchange leads to medical knowledge exchange and integration of medical technology, which can help push the development of Hainan's medical environment.
