On November 21, 2022, the World Medical Tourism and Global Healthcare Forum (WMTF) was successfully held in Bo’ao in south China’s island province of, Hainan. 

The Deputy Director of the Social and Legal Committee of the Twelfth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the former Vice Chairman and the Secretary of the Secretariat of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, and the Director of the Expert Committee of the Chinese Health Association sent video congratulations to the forum.

In 2021, the Hainan Provincial Government and the Hainan Provincial Department of Commerce decided to hold the WMTC in Ba’ao on a regular basis, and officially registered and established the "World Medical Tourism and Global Healthcare (Boao) Forum (WMTF) ".

Experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs from the fields of medical tourism, medical consumption, medical health technology, and other fields from home and abroad gathered in Bo’ao. Through a combination of online and offline methods, they exchanged and discussed cutting-edge topics such as medical consumer service innovation and technological innovation, thus building a service platform for the Hainan Free Trade Port to lead global medical consumption.

Zhang Yuhui, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Hainan Provincial Health Commission, pointed out in his speech at the opening ceremony that under the current severe situation of the epidemic situation, it is a success that the forum can be held as scheduled. Hainan has unique advantages in medical health care . He hoped that with the platform of the World Medical Tourism and Global Healthcare Forum, the development of Hainan's health industry will be accelerated.

Zhang Xiaohan, Deputy Mayor of Qionghai Municipal People's Government, delivered a speech for the forum. He said that Qionghai has rich medical and healthcare resources, and is gradually building an international medical tourism destination, a cutting-edge medical research and development and transformation base, and a gathering place for new national medical institutions.

Hao Deming, Executive Vice President and Secretary-general of the Chinese Non-Government Medical Institution Association, mentioned in his speech that China has a population of 1.4 billion, with the development of the economy and the increasing health needs of the people, international medical tourism presents a broad market prospect. Medical care has no borders, but its development must be regulated. Currently, China's medical and health industry has entered a new stage of high-quality development, he added.

At the same time, this forum also received support and guidance from the Chinese Association for Improving Birth Outcome and Child Development. Dai Xuguang, the association's president, sent a congratulatory video to the forum.
